How Bible Unfolded handles information on the website, in the mobile app, and during testing.

Who provides the game

Bible Unfolded and the Luke Follows Jesus game website are provided by Luke Gainey. Contact [email protected] for support or privacy questions. This policy covers the website, including Bible Golf and the sample character wardrobe, and the Bible Unfolded mobile game.

Guest play and optional accounts

You do not need an account to play. Guest progress, including your current puzzle, hints, answers, stars, tutorial progress, encouragement progress, save reminder choices, and preferences, is stored in your browser or app installation. A guest save is not uploaded as a cloud journey.

On the website, you can choose to copy a progress transfer code without an account. It contains completed puzzle identifiers, best move counts, and tutorial completion, but no name, email, credentials, or unfinished board. Creating a code does not upload it to us. Anyone you give the code to can copy those game results. Pasting it into the game combines the results with the selected guest or signed-in journey; signed-in results use the cloud saving described below. A code is a snapshot and does not sync later play.

On the website, adults and parents age 18 or older may choose Google sign-in or an email and password account to save completed puzzles and best star results across browsers and devices. The installed mobile app currently uses local saves; mobile account support is planned for a later update. Children can play as guests. Each account has one journey. We do not automatically add guest progress to an account: the signed-in adult chooses whether to add that device’s guest progress.

The game has no advertising SDK, behavioral tracking, in-game chat, purchases, or third-party gameplay analytics. It does not request contacts, precise location, photos, or microphone access.

Bible Golf progress and your sample character appearance are saved separately in this browser. They are not linked to your puzzle account or uploaded as cloud saves. People sharing a browser profile share these local choices. Clearing site data removes them. Character outfits are currently samples, not earned rewards shared across games.

Sign-in and private cloud saves

Optional sign-in and cloud saves use Google Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Google authenticates you; the game does not receive your Google password. Account records may contain your provider identifier, email address, display name, profile image URL, and authentication timestamps. The game displays your email or name to help identify the signed-in account and does not upload your profile to a public directory.

Your private cloud journey contains an account identifier, completed puzzle identifiers, best move counts used to calculate stars, tutorial completion, and a save timestamp. Hints, device preferences, and an unfinished puzzle board stay on the original device. Authorized project administrators can access service records to operate the game and handle support; other players cannot browse your save.

Google processes sign-in requests under its own privacy practices, including connection and device information used for authentication and security. Google Analytics, advertising features, and anonymous guest authentication are not enabled. Cloud saves are stored in the United States. Service information may be processed in other locations described by Google. Apple sign-in is not enabled.

Signing out returns to the separate guest journey. A copy of the account journey can remain in local app or browser storage for offline use when that account signs in again. Keep your device secure and clear site or app data before handing a device to someone else.

Email account passwords are sent to Firebase Authentication and are not stored in journey or group records. Email verification is required before cloud saving and group membership. Firebase sends verification and password recovery messages to the email address you provide. Until verification, gameplay remains in the device guest save.

Optional church, family, and friend groups

An adult or parent can choose to create or join one group with a shared code and a display name. Joining shares that display name, total stars, completed puzzle count, and leader status with group members. Member records also contain an account identifier and join/update timestamps. Emails, passwords, individual answers, and private journey records are not shared with members. Signed-in people who know a join code can check the group name and join if space is available; there is no public group directory.

Group leaders can remove members or close their group. A removed person who still has the code can join again. Avoid personal information in group names and use a nickname or family display name rather than a child’s full name. Group data is stored in Cloud Firestore in the United States under the same provider practices as cloud saves.

Leaving removes your member record. Closing removes the group name and member records; a minimal group identifier, owner identifier, creation timestamp, and closed status remain to keep the code closed. Private account-to-group references are cleared when affected accounts next open the group or delete their account. Deleting an account removes its membership and closes any group it leads. Other members keep their own private game progress.

Website hosting

The browser version and these public pages are hosted by Cloudflare. Opening them sends ordinary connection information to Cloudflare, such as your IP address, requested URL, request time, and browser/device information. Cloudflare processes service traffic and security information to deliver and protect the website and may make traffic or security information available through its dashboard. This is separate from your locally saved puzzle progress.

We do not use this connection information for behavioral advertising. Cloudflare's handling and retention of service information are described in its privacy policy. The website needs an internet connection to load; the native app includes its puzzle files on the device.

Optional links and read-aloud

If you choose to open a Bible Gateway passage or another external link, that service receives information associated with your visit and its own privacy policy applies. External sites may use cookies or collect information under their own policies.

Read-aloud uses the speech service offered by your browser or operating system. The game passes the selected verse or story text to that service and does not record you. Voice availability, downloads, and any network processing depend on your device and selected voice.

Apple, Google, and beta testing

Downloading or testing through Apple or Google involves those providers' services and privacy practices. Depending on the service and your settings, they may provide the publisher with diagnostics, aggregate app statistics, or feedback.

Apple TestFlight collects beta usage and crash information and shares testing information and submitted feedback with the developer. We use beta information to investigate problems and improve the game. This does not create a cloud copy of your puzzle save. TestFlight has its own tester age requirements.

Support messages and retention

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. Support email is handled through Gmail/Google. We use correspondence to answer questions, troubleshoot, and address privacy requests, not to build advertising profiles. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary personal information.

Support correspondence and any diagnostic information we retain are kept only as needed to handle the request, investigate related problems, or meet legal obligations. You may request access, correction, or deletion by email. We may need enough information to verify that a request concerns your information. Service providers also apply their own retention practices; we cannot delete records they independently control.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be processed by the service providers described here, or disclosed when legally required. We cannot promise that any internet service is completely secure.

Children and families

Children and adults can enjoy guest play. Account creation and cloud saving are offered to adults and parents age 18 or older. Children should keep playing without an account and ask a parent or guardian to handle support requests and external links. There are no child accounts, public profile directory, or player messages. Optional groups are managed through adult or parent accounts as described above.

If you believe a child created an account or sent personal information to us, contact [email protected] so we can review the situation and remove information that should not be retained. Additional features aimed at children will require appropriate privacy practices and any legally required notice or consent before use.

Clearing your information and changes

Guest Settings → Reset game progress removes the guest discoveries, best scores, current puzzle, hints, and story answers from that browser or installation. Sound, reading, and theme preferences remain. This reset is unavailable while signed in. Browser site-data controls or device app-data controls remove local information; operating-system backups may be handled separately by your device provider.

To delete your account, open My saved journey → Delete my account and confirm by signing in again. This removes the Firebase account identity, cloud game progress, and its account save on the current device. The separate guest save remains. A minimal deletion marker containing the account identifier and deletion time is retained to prevent an old signed-in device from recreating the deleted cloud save. It contains no name, email, or game progress. Local copies on other devices require clearing those devices’ site or app data.

Cloud progress is retained while the account is active. To request account or personal-data deletion without using the game, email [email protected] from the account’s contact address, identify Bible Unfolded, and request deletion. We may need to verify ownership. Do not send a password. Service providers apply their own security-log and backup retention practices.

Guest saves remain until reset or removed by you, your browser, or your device. We cannot restore a guest save that has been lost. A cloud save can restore completed puzzles only after they successfully synchronized. Private browsing and storage restrictions can prevent lasting device saves. People sharing a guest browser profile share its guest journey.

We will update this page when information practices change. The date above identifies this policy version. For privacy questions or applicable privacy-rights requests, email [email protected].
